Samenvatting

PD-L1 on melanoma cells impairs the function of TIL. However, whereas it has been reported that PD-L1 on tumor cells has an anti-apoptotic effect, this is not the case for at least 1087-mel, challenging our current knowledge on the anti-apoptotic effect of PD-L1.
Lentiviruses encoding tSMAC controlled by the huTYR specifically induce apoptosis of melanoma cells. In the future, we will evaluate whether the resulting apoptotic bodies (tumor antigens) are taken up and processed by dendritic cells and whether this results in activation (lentiviral component) and presentation of tumor antigens to effector T cells.
