Samenvatting

Microglia respond as brain macrophages robustly to serum cytokine exposure but rapidly restore quiescence. Here, Shemer et al. establish the requirement of leukocyte-derived IL-10 to prevent fatal microglia hyperactivation and secretion of otherwise detrimental microglial TNF.
