Samenvatting
More and more intermodal centres have been planned and established recently in Hungary. The lack of good examples and information essential for planning and operation have been causing problems in the case of both already established centres and those being established now. These problems can affect tens of thousands of users. This case study about the Kőbánya-Kispest intermodal centre explores the problems occuring and their causes found in design, implementation, and operation. The results of the research show that the problems experienced at the terminal can be attributed to four main reasons: lack of planning methodology and experience; uncoordinated planning and renovation works; conflict of private and public interest; and fragmented operation.
