Samenvatting
Positive Energy Districts (PEDs) and neighborhoods represent a catalyst for urban transformation, fostering sustainable development and energy transition. This article explores the collaborative actions of various urban stakeholders in implementing PEDs within complex socio-ecological contexts. Through case studies in Porto Fluviale (Rome), Abattoir (Brussels), and Kizilay Boulevard (Kartal, Istanbul), we examine the challenges and opportunities of integrating renewable energy solutions into existing urban fabrics. The discussion highlights co-creation strategies, participatory development processes, and effective communication approaches to ensure long-term success. Finally, the article advocates for PEDs as open spaces for experimentation and debate, paving the way for inclusive and resilient urban futures.
