Multi Actor Multi Criteria Analysis as a tool to involve stakeholders within the city distribution context

Samenvatting

Policy making for urban freight transport is very challenging. Not only because of a lack of data or the fact that until now city distribution has been mostly neglected in cities, but also because there are many actors that are involved or are influenced by the new initiatives. With the MAMCA methodology, which stands for Multi Actor Multi Criteria Analysis, these different stakeholders are all taken into account by explicitly taking their objectives as the basis to evaluate several policy options. Within this paper, the use of interactive MAMCA workshops is described and important lessons are put forward.
