Samenvatting

With the use of transformation optics, we show that the relativistic Doppler effect can be mimicked using an entirely stationary, i.e., nonmoving metamaterial medium. Reflection on this metamaterials no longer satisfies the simple law of reflection-the angle of reflection is not equal to the angle of incidence. This nonreciprocal behavior might be useful for optical isolators.
