Samenvatting
This Present Moment, published in 2015, is the latest poem collection of Gary Snyder. The four sections it contains --“Outriders”, “Locals”, “Ancestors” and “Go Now”-- are a reflection of Snyder’s everyday life and also travel notes of time and space. The poems blend ecological place, illusory vision, ekphrasis and spatialized time, so as to build an open limitless poetic space. Tracking the poet’s footprints in this world in his eighth decade, This Present Moment, in a sense, summarizes his poetic life.
