Samenvatting

The Policy Brief is the outcome of a major piece of research on Subject Access and Citizens Rights across Europe, carried out as part of the IRISS Project, which was funded by the FP7 Framework Programme for research of the European Union (SSH.2011.5.1-2). Our findings highlight the widespread problems citizens encounter when trying to exercise their rights, and are therefore of direct relevance to the current political deliberations in the European Council and the European Parliament regarding the proposed new data protection legislation.
