TENSILE AND THERMO-MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF RECYCLED TENNIS STRINGS

Onderzoeksoutput: Conference paper

Samenvatting

Performance and mechanical properties of different tennis strings are studied in this paper by means of static and dynamic loading. Tensile tests are conducted to investigate the strings’ behaviour under different loading conditions and the stress relaxation (tension loss) of the material. The samples also underwent dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) to investigate the thermo-mechanical properties.
Tests were conducted on commercially available strings and compared with newly developed tennis strings, partially based on recycled polymers. The samples can differ by the composition and the extrusion parameters.
