Samenvatting
This paper evaluates the degree to which the current Sino-Indian partnership is characterized by economic complementarity, and if the two countries' future ambitions will allow the development of a division of labour in terms of export and investment policies. It is found that this will not be the case. Policies are highly identical and if they are implemented, competition will increase. In this study, all economic indicators are approached from a political perspective in order to make a realistic assessment of their impact on the future Sino-Indian relationship.
