Samenvatting

The main goal of this paper is to translate a design-concept of modular, lightweight and freeform structures into a calculation method for the actual realization of structures, whose modular building stones are sandwich panels with a PUR(polyurethane)-core and TRC(Textile Reinforced Cement)-faces, shaped in the form of hyperbolic paraboloids (hypars). This translation will depend on the specific characterization of the structure. According to the Eurocodes, two states are important: the ultimate limit state and the serviceability limit state. Due to the lightweight aspect of the modular structure, the serviceability limit state will gain in importance. Therefore, stiffness and cracks are important factors as is the influence of repeated loading.
