Electrochemical study of relaxation behaviour in lithium metal batteries

Lithium metal batteries (LMB) are the next-generation contenders for lithium-ion batteries (LIB) with up to three times as much capacity. The greater reactivity of lithium metal poses new challenges for battery storage due to relaxation behaviour. The influence of additives, electrolytes, substrate materials and deposition current density on the dendrite morphology were studied. Single-sine EIS and ORP-EIS were used to study long-term and short-term relaxation behaviour, respectively.
