Towards electrically switchable diffractive optical elements fabricated with two-photon polymerization

Scriptie/Masterproef: Master's Thesis

Samenvatting

Combining Liquid Crystals (LCs) and Two-Photon Polymerization Direct Laser Writing (TPPDLW) is a promising state-of-the-art technology with a lot of potential for developing 3D switchable structures on a micro-scale. This thesis is working on the development, optimization, and testing of 3D printing recipes for working with LC resins using commercial Nanoscribe TPP printing systems. Successful preparation and characterization of LC resins are achieved. An
extensive guide of the testing and optimization of the different components that make up an LC cell is done. A fully assembled and functional LC cell is demonstrated using diffraction gratings
