Personal profile

Expertise

After completing my Master’s at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) with great distinction, I obtained my PhD in
Medical Sciences (2025) in pancreatic cancer at the Translational Oncology Research Centre (TORC, VUB), under
mentorship of Prof. Ilse Rooman, where I currently combine research and core facility responsibilities. I work part-time
on a collaborative research project with Peking University, focused on identifying novel regulators of tumor cell
plasticity in adenosquamous carcinoma. In parallel, I serve as operational manager within the VUB
Visual and Spatial Tissue Analysis (VSTA) core facility, coordinating spatial biology projects, advising intern and extern
collaborators on experimental design and technology selection, and oversee end-to-end workflows from sample
preparation to data analysis, visualization, and interpretation.
